The Role:

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Academy & Operations Manager to apply Lilium’s revolutionary product & business model.

This role will be part of the Aircraft Assembly department which is tasked with realising the product design of the Lilium Jet into manufacturing solutions. The “Academy & Operations Manager” will be responsible for establishing a Lilium Operating System.

In this position, you will provide a business landscape for a rapid evolving organisation to secure a best-in-class production environment to meet the business targets in accordance with EASA 21G and EN9100 standards.

Your Day to Day:

  • Develop and establish a state-of-the-art operating system
  • Anticipate process needs and take ownership for process development & implementation
  • Secure business readiness at all time, and implement tools, methods and processes to guarantee a performance driven organisation and continuous improvement culture
  • Drive standardization in accordance to EASA 21G, EN9100 and the operating system
  • Prepare a digital business landscape for industry 4.0 approaches
  • Develop a futuristic learn & growth academy to secure Liliums industrial road-map including POA approval
  • Establish a multi-skilling scheme to secure poly-valence and poly competence
  • Specify the academy requirements and contribute to the industrial landscape & smart factories
  • Establish a sustainable problem-solving routine and culture
  • Conduct research to identify new benchmarks and organisational needs
  • Collaborate hands-on with Production, Industrial, Human Resource, Manufacturing Engineering, Facility Management, Logistics and Quality


Your Profile:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in front- and back-end business development role in high volume production environments and/or aircraft manufacturing
  • Experience in developing operating systems and/or learning academy’s
  • Leadership abilities and experience in project management including dynamic planning & execution during production ramp up
  • Lean and six sigma skills – driving continuous improvements as part of your DNA to reduce operating costs
  • Creative problem-solving competencies and relevant lean certifications
  • People-focused approach; Excellent communicator with a high sense of urgency
  • Strong hands-on mentality and heavy collaboration with cross functional teams
  • ICT Skills: Manufacturing Execution Systems; Microsoft Office; Project Management
  • Fluent English required, German language is a plus
