As Head of Operations, you will be accountable for managing the day to day operations of the business. You will be crucial to the success of Scott’s Cheap Flights by ensuring strategic ownership of finance, legal, and accounting as well as helping oversee People Operations and Talent Acquisition.

In the short term, you will:

  • Provide strategic ownership of all legal, accounting, and finance-related responsibilities by evaluating, iterating on, and improving all systems, vendor relationships, and processes to ensure long-term scalability
  • Own and optimize our financial model and budgeting process to ensure ease of understanding for the cross-functional leadership team to make well-informed decisions
  • Implement company-wide and team-specific budgets by the end of the year
  • Collaborate with the People Operations Manager to roll-out and train the team on a scalable performance management solution
  • Act as a business partner to all members of the team to help provide guidance on process efficiency, data-driven decision making, and strategic planning
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, People Operations Manager, and Talent Acquisition Manager to establish headcount budgeting, career planning, and compensation bands
  • Manage and mentor the Operations team which currently consist of a People Operations Manager and a Talent Acquisition Manager

In the long term, you will:

  • Establish financial metrics and implement a dashboard or reporting mechanism for measuring, monitoring, and acting on team goals and performance
  • Continually find ways to improve upon current processes to ensure the long-term success of the Scott’s Cheap Flights team
  • Support alignment of team strategy and objectives across all business units to ensure seamless integration with the overall goals of the organization
  • Develop, iterate on, communicate, and manage cross-functional and organization-wide strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with the People Operations Manager to implement tools, surveys, and best practices to ensure and measure team health and employee engagement across the organization
  • Level-up the entire organization by supporting the implementation of streamlined metrics and objectives for increased accountability
  • Mentor the Scott’s Cheap Flights team on operational best practices in order to establish an environment focused on continual improvement
  • Guide corporate operations and team productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
  • Participate in our quarterly onsite where our leadership team meets in person for the work week and plans the quarter to follow

What you bring to the table:

  • Proven work experience in operations, strategic finance, risk and compliance management
  • Experience managing a team of high-potential employees, ideally in a growth stage start-up environment
  • Strong understanding of B2C financial models and forecasting with experience developing and managing team budgets, resources, and cash flows
  • Experience as a member of an executive or leadership team at a Vice President (VP) level or higher
  • A keen ability to translate complex topics and data in to succinct and actionable information across all skillsets and levels of experience
  • Evaluation and ownership of vendors across legal, accounting, and other relevant skillsets
  • Proven success driving efficiency, automation, and systemization across diverse team functions to drive key business objectives across the finish line
  • Experience collaborating with the people operations and talent acquisition functions
  • Results-oriented, strategic, well-organized, systematic thinker with high standards
  • The ability to do more with less, constantly finding ways to improve the business without always spending more money
